Camp Hill's Market on Market is Now Open

Camp Hill's Market on Market is Now OpenThe Camp Hill Borough in central PA is one of the most charming and desirable to live in.

The Dave Hooke Team real estate shares this quote about what it's like to live in Camp Hill:

"...., and Camp Hill is considered not only a great place to call home, but it is very safe and welcoming. There are many places to shop, and many more to spend good one-on-one time with family."

One of the most popular local places to shop is the seasonal Camp Hill Farmer's Market, The Market on Market.

About Camp Hill's Market on Market

This seasonal farmers' market is located at Trinity Lutheran Church 2000 Chestnut Street. This is the third year of the farmer's market which is hosted by the Downtown Camp Hill Association. The first open day of the market was Tuesday, May 14.

The market showcases over 25 local vendors each week. Products available for purchase include local fresh produce, prepared foods, farm goods, hand-crafted items, and more. The market is open seasonally from May to October. This year the market will close on October 15th. It operates weekly on Tuesdays from 3 pm to 7 pm.

Some vendors come by one time to offer a special event-style week at the market. Some vendors offer special products on certain weeks. At the last Tuesday market, K. Schlegel Fruit Farm was showcasing its fresh crop of strawberries. If you would like to know about anything special happening for the week check out the updates on the Market on Market Facebook page.

PA Farmers Market Nutrition Program

The Market on Market participates in the state nutrition assistance program for WIC recipients and seniors. Vouchers from the program are accepted at the farmers market in Camp Hill. It is good to note that not all vendors may accept the vouchers. A voucher can only be redeemed by a vendor that is approved through the program. If using a voucher make sure to check with the vendor first before making an order or attempting to purchase goods.

To learn more about the voucher program, including eligibility and participating markets head to the agriculture department for the State of PA page about Farmers Market Nutrition Programs.

Attending Farmer's Markets Can Help You Meet People

Going to a local farmers market is more than just shopping local or getting the freshest healthiest food products possible, it gives you a chance to get to know the community culture and meet people.

Holly Peeples of The Bell Team real estate in Captiva Island shares this in a blog post about the impact of their farmers market on the community:

"Jean and Betsy firmly believe in the benefit of farmers markets on a local community. They have seen the market bring people in the community together connecting local vendors and artisans more easily with the public and with each other."
